Sat. June 27, 10am-1pm, Farmer’s Market, Bailey Blvd (near the police station), Haverhill, MA (Dave and Patrick along for the ride)

Great Rehearsal
On Friday, July 18, the Plough got together for a potluck lunch and a rehearsal in anticipation of our upcoming gig in Newburyport on the 27th. Plenty of originals were on hand, ranging from Tom’s couscous and Patrick’s hummus, to original fiddle tunes by Patrick and Dave and a new song from Tom. The Curvy Road to Canterbury is a nice tune in 6/8 written by Patrick inspired by his drive home. Mel’s Fancy is another 6/8 penned by Dave and named for fellow fiddler, Melinda Kerwin. Creation Stories is a song Tom wrote in observance of the seasons, and all these new tunes are on the set list as well as available on our CD.
Old and in the way
…describes my ability to keep the website up to date.
In the past couple of months:
Bill, Patrick and I played a show at a nursing home in Londonderry, NH. They tried to keep Bill, but we wouldn’t let go of him that easily. It is always gratifying to play for such an appreciative audience.
Yesterday, Tom, Bill and I played at one of our favorite venues, Alfalfa Farm Winery in Topsfield, MA. We had a gorgeous day and a great crowd, and we realized the three of us had never played out as a band before. We pulled some interesting material from the bottom of the archives, but we played well and the audience enjoyed it.

Sorry for the tease, but this is a photo, not a video. You’ll have to find the video on Facebook.
Next on the calendar is Yankee Homecoming in Newburyport at the end of July. We’ll post more about that in the weeks to come.
